La Crosse's Monsoor moves into 2nd place in FLW Tour event

JEFFERSON, TN - Forget about eighth place.
La Crosse's Tom Monsoor is in second place heading into Sunday's final round of the FLW Tour Qualifier on Cherokee Lake in Jefferson, TN.
Monsoor, the 70-year-old FLW Tour veteran, weighed in a third straight five bass limit, and Saturday's bag pushed the scale up to 17 pounds, 6 ounces, his heftiest one-day weight of the tourney. He managed 17 pounds on Thursday, then 16-4 on Friday before Saturday's heavy bag for a 50-10, three-day total.
Andrew Upshaw of Tulsa, OK, remains in first place with 52-4, weighing 16 pounds on day three. He leads Monsoor by a mere 1-10.
Oh, by the way, Monsoor caught the heaviest bag on Saturday.
While FLW Tour followers believe Upshaw’s lead seems fairly secure based on his consistency and the lack of giant bass in Cherokee, Monsoor and the other eight finalists are breathing down his neck.
