Onalaska's Walkley into WSGA Match Play quarterfinals

MADISON, WI - Jim Walkley is on a run.
The former Onalaska PGA professional, who regained his amateur status several years go, is in the running for the Wisconsin State Golf Association State Match Play Championship.
Walkley advanced to Wednesday's quarterfinals with two victories on Tuesday at the Blackhawk Country Club in Madison. Walkley defeated Adam Garski of Wauwatosa in 19 holes, then outlasted fellow La Crosse Country Club member Bennett Hutson, also from Onalaska, 1-up.
Walkley was the only Coulee Region player to make it to the quarterfinals. Joe Weber of Onalaska lost his match to Matt Tolan of Eau Claire, in 19 holes. Trey Hewuse III of Tomah was eliminated by Cory Aune of Lake Geneva, 5-and-4.
