Onalaska's Puestow third in Super Seniors low net event

OREGON, WI - Ronald Puestow of Onalaska, WI, fared well in the Wisconsin State Golf Association Senior Tour Event No. 2 at the Legend at Bergamont in Oregon, WI, on Tuesday.
Puestow finished third in the Super Seniors Net Division with 67 and 41 points. He also tied for 28th in the Gross Division with an 18-over par 90 and 19 points.
Greg Johnson of Black River Falls, WI, tied for 18th place in the Seniors Gross Division with 80 and 28 points, while Onalaska's Jim Socha shot 86 and 22 points to share 41st place. Larry Dziak of Trempealeau, WI, finished 52nd with 91 and 17 points.
Socha finished in an eight-way tie for 36th place in the Seniors Net Division with 76 and 32 points. Johnson tied for 44th place with 77 and 31 points. Dziak shared 56th place with 82 and 26 points.


Miller wins annual TRGA Viroqua Hills Open

VIROQUA, WI - Mark Miller posted a 6-over par 77 that neither Troy Dobbe nor Jake Dunn could match in the annual Three Rivers Golf Association VPP Group/Big Sky Cattle Viroqua Open at Viroqua Hills Golf Course in Viroqua, WI, on Sunday.
It was Miller's first Championship Flight victory since winning the TRGA River Run Open in Sparta, WI, late last year.
In other men's competition, Jeff Pigorsch won First Flight with 79, while Gary Parr captured Second Flight with 80. Damian Bork paced Third Flight players with an 84, while Michael DeYoe won the Men's Gold Flight with a low net 89.
Terry Ziegelbauer won Women's Flighted Flighted with a low net 77.

Peterson wins pair of TRGA events on same weekend

BARRE MILLS, WI - Matthew Peterson is off to a fast start on the 2018 Three Rivers Golf Association VPP Group/Big Sky Cattle tour.
The Rockford, IL, golfer won his second TRGA event in as many days, sweeping the TRGA Fox Hollow Open at Fox Hollow Golf Course in Barre Mills, WI, on Sunday. Peterson also won the TRGA Valley High Open on Saturday.
Peterson posted a 4-over par 70 at Fox Hollow. Michael Drugan, co-owner of Drugan's Castle Mound Country Club in Holmen, WI, finished runner-up with 76, while Troy Dobbe of Viroqua, WI, snared third with 78.
Mitch Gault of Holmen won the First Flight with 72. Chuck Moore of La Crosse, Tom Desjarlais of Onalaska, and Tony Friedl of La Crosse finished in a tie for Second Flight honors with 80 each. Moore won the playoff. Desjarlais also lost in a playoff the day before. Holmen's Jeff Osgood won the Third Flight with an 81.
Low net Gold Flight honors went to Jim Kelly of Chaseburg, WI, with
86.

PDC's Farrell sets pace in WSGA senior event

LAKE GENEVA, WI - Tom Farrell of Prairie du Chien, WI, dominated the Super Senior Division in the Wisconsin State Golf Association Senior Tour Event No. 1 at Geneva National Golf Club in Lake Geneva, WI, on Wednesday.
Farrell won the Super Senior Division low gross title with an even par 72 (32 points), and followed with a low net 68 (40).
Greg Johnson of Black River Falls, WI, Larry Dziak of Trempealeau, WI, and Jim Socha of Onalaska, WI, shared ninth place in the Seniors gross division with 84 (24) each.[
Socha finished eighth in the net division with 74 (34) while Dziak tied for 12th (32). Johnson shared 30th place with 27 points.

Rockford's Peterson wins 2018 TRGA opener

HOUSTON, MN - Matthew Peterson of Rockford, IL, opened the Three Rivers Golf Association VPP Group/Big Sky Cattle season with a one-shot victory in the TRGA Valley High Open at Valley High Golf Club in Houston, MN, on Saturday.
Peterson shot a 4-over par 75, while Troy Dobbe of Viroqua, WI, and Michael Drugan of Holmen, WI, tied for second place with 76 each.
Ben Korger of La Crosse captured the First Flight title with 81, Onalaska's Tim Peterson and Tom Desjarlais, also from Onalaska, tied with 81 in Second Flight while Peterson won the playoff. Third Flight honors went to La Crosse's Robert Burns with 89, while Larry Shingleton, also of La Crosse, won the Gold Flight (low net) title with 74.
