Junior Golf League begins June 11 at Trempealeau Mountain

TREMPEALEAU, WI - Trempealeau Mountain Golf Club is offering a Tuesday evening Junior Golf League beginning Tuesday, June 11, according to general manager Ellari Aune.
Each week, students ages 6-17, will play seven holes of golf and rotate through a quick lesson. Golf begins at 5:30 p.m., alternating the front and back nines with the Couples League, also scheduled at the same time on Tuesday nights.
Aune said the juniors program will focus on fun, etiquette, fundamentals and team competition. The program runs from June 11-July 16, with no class on July 2. A cookout and party will follow golf on July 16. Registration fee is $30 per student, with a weekly golf fee of $7. Season pass holders are exempt. Annual junior unlimited golf passes are $75 for players 17 and under.
Aune said juniors may register through opening night, although she would like parents to at least call ahead so she can get a count on how many kids will be showing up.
"Junior Golf League is a little different than the traditional lesson set of being on the range and putting green the whole time," she said. "The kids will get real course experience playing seven holes and learning how to move from hole to hole, play ready golf, keeping pace of play, on-course etiquette and rotate through a focused lesson station each week."
Aune said Jay Farmer of Farmer Golf Instruction is handling the junior league and lessons. He has previous teaching experience at Painted Mountain and Whistling Straits.
