Aune making changes at Trempealeau Mountain

TREMPEALEAU, WI - Ellari Aune is discovering just how crazy La Crosse area people are for their golf.
Aune, formerly from Duluth, MN, is the new general manager at Trempealeau Mountain Golf Club in Trempealeau, WI.
Aune has six years experience in golf management, including two years at Nemadji Golf Course in Superior, WI. She also managed three courses in the Duluth area last year.
"There are not enough hours in the day right now with all of the new things we are adding," Aune said.
Here is a sampling of what Aune is offering this year:
* A new Monday Night, two-person best-ball league began Monday and runs through Aug. 26. There are flexible tee times from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. Players sign up as a two-person team with substitutes allowed. Teams may consist of men, women and co-ed players. It is a nine-hole league with weekly proximity games. There is no league fee and players do not need a handicap.
* A Tuesday night Couples League begins May 21. The ever popular Thursday League returns, and a Wednesday Night League just began. Other leagues are planned as well.
* The course is open at 7 a.m., each day from May 16-Sept. 15.
* New patio furniture has been added and some yard games including a horseshoe pit, Corn Hole, Giant Jenga and dartboard.
* Aune said the grill is open 11 a.m.-9 p.m., seven days a week.
"We have been blessed with an amazing chef, Aune said. "Andre has such passion for cooking. His food tastes wonderful and looks beautiful, too.
"Our menu is going great with tons of positive feedback on the tacos. We are now offering Bloody Mary flights. They are four sample sizes of Bloody Mary's each with a different alcohol," she added. "Whiskey, Kracken Spiced Rum, Hendrick's Midsummer Solstice Gin and Praire Cucumber Vodka."
* Aune urges golfers to check out all the new pricing, too. For example, Junior memberships for players 17 and under are $75, while young adult unlimited memberships for ages 18-25 are $99. Unlimited season cart passes (1 seat) are $495.
* Aune said a Tuesday evening junior program is scheduled to play on the opposite nine of the couples league. Junior golf starts in June. Jay Farmer will be instructing the junior league. They will play seven holes of golf weekly and rotate through a quick lesson at the range, or chipping and putting greens each week.
* Chris Zastrow remains the course superintendent, according to Aune.
