La Crosse's Monsoor finishes 11th in FLW opener

Tom Monsoor gave it his all, but came up a little short in the semifinal round of the 2019 FLW Tour season opener on Sam Rayburn Reservoir in Brookeland, TX, on Saturday.
The La Crosse native made one of the most historic jumps in FLW history by moving from 120th place on Thursday into 17th place on Friday. He jumped six more spots on Saturday, but didn't quite have enough poundage to make the top 10 final for Sunday. While disappointing, Monsoor still returns home with $12,000.
Terry Bolton of Benton, KY, retained his lead with Saturday's weight of 19 pounds, 10 ounces for a three-day 73-13 total.
Monsoor also caught a five fish limit on Saturday, but his bag weighed 17-4 for 51-9 total pounds, and only 10 ounces from making the top 10.
